Get to Know Me!! + Q&A

So before properly starting to post things on this blog I thought I'd say a little bit about myself and I also did I q&a asking my TikTok followers to ask me some other questions in which will be answered later...

My name is Madi Cullen, although my full name is Madison, but prefer to go by Madi. I often get comments about my last name as a lot of people like to reference it to Twilight, which I suppose is cool, getting compared to a vampire and I just laugh at it. I'm 20 years old and was born on October 11th 1999, I often get comments saying I look younger which I take as being a good thing because when I turn thirty i'll look 21 so I guess it's a good and it all comes from my good genes. I come from New Zealand and go to university in Wellington and study a Bachelor of Communication with a major of Media Studies and Expressive Arts. I love to travel and in 2018 I went on an exchange to live in Italy for a year, which was an incredible experience I'll never forget as I made friends for life and it also gave me an excuse to each pasta and pizza 24/7 😂. Anyway after uni I'm wanting to move to either the UK or the US as I feel what industry I want to go into has better and more opportunities in these countries! and I also want to travel to many more places around the globe! I come from a family of 4 and I am the oldest sibling, as I have a brother who's 17 and is taller than me. But I guess I was seeing this coming 😂 I used to have a dog named Pipi who is the one featured in the photo, but she recently passed away last year and I miss her a lot. I enjoy dancing, watching movies, reading books such as Harry Potter and making TikToks, Anyway that's a little blurb of who I am

Time for a Q&A!! I asked my followers on TikTok for some fun questions to ask me so here you go!

1. What is your dream job? asked by Caitlin Tilsley

- this is a hard one for me to answer because I have so many things I want to do! But I want to be able to go into the entertainment industry so after I've finished my degree I'm hoping to move to the US or UK as there are better options for me there and I also just want to get out of New Zealand and travel 😂 But more specifically I'd like to be a celebrity journalist as being the person who gets to interview celebrities at red carpet events and stuff. I also would like to be a model, my dream basically is I want to be able to have myself dipped in different parts of the industry as I have so many interests and things that I'm passionate about that it's hard to choose just one thing I want to do, such as I love film, and, fashion, but I also love and am interest and business, and luckily with the degree I'm doing it gives me opportunities to do these things.

2. When did you start TikTok? (from the same person)

- Yes I have the app TikTok my username is madicullen1999 for those who want to follow me!! and I started in about July 2019 but I was originally on Musical.ly which was the original app of TikTok. I originally started doing it as a joke like everyone but I eventually fell in love with the app and made content I enjoyed, and now I find it to be a lot of fun!

3. Do you have any hobbies and would you like to try any? by xxtara_cheergirlxx

- I dance I've been dancing since I was three years old as my mum owns a dance studio and that's where I started and have loved it since. I've tried other hobbies such as gymnastics and cheer, liked both of them but I found the gymnastics I was doing wasn't what I wanted to learn as I wanted to learn how to do backflips and stuff, and cheerleading I liked it, but I decided I preferred dance and I also thought cheer was going to be like the movies Bring it on but it wasn't so yeah. I also did horse riding when I was in Italy which I loved! I got given the opportunity because my host sister's did it and I decided to give it a go and I loved it. I couldn't carry on with it because it was getting expensive and I couldn't do it back in New Zealand because of uni and because I live somewhere where there's no farmland and horses are expensive so yeah. I also ski as I go skiing with my family in the winter and absolutely love it, I've been skiing in both Italy and Canada and have amazing ski fields! Hobbies I'd love to try is that I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar or piano, and know how to sing better. I also want to get into acting as it's something I've learnt I love and want to get involved with it more! I also do photography as I love taking photos. I also like baking and cooking as being in Italy I loved learning about their food and managed to bring some of those skills home. Another hobby is that I've always wanted to play football or soccer whatever you want to call it but I've always been scarred to and it was kinda late for me to start playing in my school team so yeah.

4. How did you learn to dance? Asked by Miley Fraham

I learnt to dance through my mum considering she owns a studio so I started learning there from the age of three. Then when I was in year 11 (15 years old) I moved to boarding school therefore wasn't able to go to my mum's studio anymore however I managed to carry on through other studios near my boarding school, I also did it as a subject at school and joined my dance club which was a ton of fun!

5. What is your favorite dance style? asked by Lucy Walton

My favorite dance style is a tie between jazz and hiphop. But I love them for different reasons.

6. What is your favorite musical and what is you favorite song from that musical? asked by josie.milmine

Favorite musical I've seen live is Matilda and my favorite song from it is Revolting Children, but a musical I'm love to go and see is either the Lion King or Wicked! My favorite song from Lion King being Just Can't Wait To Be King and favorite song from Wicked is Defying Gravity, I've always had a love for musical theatre!

7. Where have you travelled to? Asked by Immy_ussher

I've travelled to Italy, Dubai, Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore, Fiji, Rarotonga and Australia. I hope to travel way more in the future!

8. What's your favorite part about New Zealand? Asked by _tinker_bell_

The scenery we have such beautiful scenery in New Zealand and the South Island is my favorite part of the country because it's so beautiful! And I love my family of course.

9. What's your favorite song? asked by zoealchin1

I have multiple favorite songs for different reasons but anything by Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce or Rihanna they're amazing!

10. What's your shoe size? same person

I'm a 7.5, I have small feet 😂

11. What was your favorite thing to do as a kid? asked by holly utting

Dance, my favorite childhood memories are of dance and how I used to go to the dance studio after school before the show rehearsals, I used to put on dance performances with my friends for our parents. I remember doing one with two of my best friends right before christmas and it was so much fun! I've always loved to perform.

12. What do you like to do in your free time? asked by stacie.bathurst

I love to watch movies and Netflix series, love to say that I read books, but I don't haha. But honestly whenever I have any free time I love to just chill out with my favorite snacks and watch a movie or series. Series I've been loving are Friends (always) and Vampire Diaries!

13. What inspired you to start making a blog and what was the inspiration behind the blog? asked by snatchedbyreid

I had always been interested in making a blog as one of the blogs I read when I was younger was by Zoella, and I just thought it was a really good space to be able to express yourself in a creative way! and the inspiration behind the blog is that I just wanted a space where I could talk about the things I like and that I'm passionate about and a blog is a really good place to be able to do that. Especially since I have a range of interests which I want to do in my career and I thought a blog is a good way to be able to express those interests in one place.

16. Your favorite part of doing TikTok? by same person

I love learning the dances and I love how it's a platform where you can to practically anything and go viral for it.

17. Celebrity crush? asked by abigal_rose

I have two but one of them I don't like to consider as a celebrity but they are Shawn Mendes, he's been my celeb crush since I was like 14 and have been supporting him since before fame and I've been lucky to have gone to two of his concerts and he follows me on Twitter which is cool. My other one is Tom Holland, I've always liked him and I think he's an incredible actor and person, he's funny, has a good personality and good heart, I love the charity he's started with his brothers called the Brother's Trust, and I love Spiderman and all the other movies he's done like the Impossible and In The Heart of the Sea are two of my favorite movies he's done, and yeah I just really like him.

18. What do you think your might might hold eg jobs, places to live etc? Asked by josie_milimine

I'm hoping the future will provide for me to work in the entertainment industry and not just in one area of it, I'd like to experience multiple areas of it such as film, business, fashion and social media, because I'm interested in so many parts of it that I don't want to choose just one, I'm wanting to work on both behind and in front of the scenes, eg doing modeling but also being able to see the business side or acting but also being able to help with producing or directing, because I love being able to explore all of these industries, and hopefully the future will allow me to do this! Regarding on where I want to live I want to end up living in either the UK or the US just because the opportunities for the industry I want go in is better in those countries, and overall I just want to be happy with my life, as cheesy and simple as that sounds but it's true I just want to be happy, and also I'd love to have some experience with working with charities.
