*Spoiler free Section

- Pixar's new film Onward is about two brothers Ian (Tom Holland) and Barley (Chris Pratt) who's dad passed away but left Ian his magic staff and left him with a spell to bring him back for one day. Barley and Ian then set off on adventure to retrieve whatever they need to bring their dad back. This movie is an incredible story about the bond between two brothers and the adventure that brings them closer together!

Spoiler Section!!

I absolutely loved this film it was funny, heartwarming and a bit of a tear jerker. The story of this film is about two elves who are brothers, Ian (Tom Holland) and Barley (Chris Pratt). Ian is a brother who likes to take life a little bit seriously whereas Barley likes to be more free spirited. In the story Ian and Barley's dad died before Ian was even bored and leaves a simple tape behind of him talking. Then on Ian's birthday his dad leaves him behind a magic staff which shows that Ian is able to use magic as magic was vanished from the elves by the evolution of technology. The thing I found mainly interesting about the film is that it was based on something that actually happened to the director, Dan Scanlon as he never got to meet his father and his oldest brother barely did. But all they were left was with a tape of his dad saying Hello and goodbye. So I guess with what was happening with this film it's trying to showcase the bond between him and his brother, and also trying to imagine what his father would've been like. Back to the storyline, Ian seems to be more suspicious about the magic but Barley tries to say to him that it's true therefore Barely trying make the staff work. But then the brothers figure out later that the only one who can wield magic from it is Ian. Ian struggles to believe in himself in the movie which is seen to be a common theme within this movie and helps for kids to relate to him, because some kids and adults struggle to believe in themselves. But then Barley encourages Ian to believe in himself which I believe in a way that people sometimes need a mentor to encourage them to believe in themselves. Because once you do you can do anything! Barely and Ian then find a spell that allows them bring their dad back for a day they manage to do it by only bringing part of him back, as they only had one phoenix crystal to bring that part back. But then that leads the boys to go on an adventure to find another crystal to bring their father back for one day. Throughout this film we see Ian and Barley's bond starting to build closer through this film and later in the end of the film they realize that it's important to have a good bond with you siblings because they're family. This film was an excellent and beautiful execution of brotherhood and shows the importance and bond of brotherhood! I'm able to relate to this as I have a brother of my own and I understand the importance of the bondage between siblings. I think Tom Holland and Chris Pratt did an incredible job with voicing these two characters as it was their first time doing a pixar movie and I know that Tom had always wanted to do a pixar movie and I think this was one of the best Pixar movies I've seen yet. It made me cry a little bit not going to lie just because it was quite emotional regardless of it being an animation I thought the story was beautiful and brilliant!! Well done Pixar and Dan Scanlon on this beautiful film!

Speaking of Tom Holland, my next review is going to be on Spiderman Homecoming and Far From Home, and his journey through his career as an actor! Also make sure to check out him and his brother's charity foundation the Brother's Trust, as they're doing some amazing stuff on there that you should check out!! https://www.thebrotherstrust.org/ - not getting paid or told to promote this just wanted to honor this charity!

Thank you Tom, Chris and Dan for this beautiful film!
